For yet another year, Casa Árabe is taking part in the White Night of Flamenco with this show dedicated to Iraqi musician Ziryab.

At the eighth edition of the White Night of Flamenco, Casa Árabe is presenting “The Blackbird’s Journey,” in which music and dance are integrated into a dialogue between flamenco and Arab music.

Under the musical direction of Sergio de Lope, this show pays homage to the musician of Iraqi origin, Abu l-Hasan Ali ibn Nafi, known as Ziryab, “blackbird” in Arabic, who in the early ninth century left from Baghdad and reached the court in Cordoba, where his skill and knowledge revolutionized music in Al-Andalus.
