Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of the University of Cordoba and the Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in Religious Diversity in a Globalized World (ReD Global), is organizing a series of eight conferences to be held from March 17 to May 12.

Casa Árabe is hosting the second edition of the conference series “The Construction of Religious Identity in Europe II,” organized with the cooperation of the University of Cordoba and the Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in Religious Diversity in a Globalized World (ReD Global). The program will last from March 17 to May 12, 2026, will consisting of eight conferences devoted analyzing religious minorities in Europe from a historical and contemporary perspective.

This second series focuses on studying the Moorish and Jewish-convert minorities, examining the processes of religious identity construction, the dynamics of coexistence and exclusion, and the documentary and methodological sources for their study. The goal is to offer interpretive keys which make it possible to understand the current debates surrounding religious diversity in Europe on the basis of its historical legacy.

The sessions are intended for a select group of international students from the ReD Global Master’s program, as well as specialists interested in the subject, and will be taught by Professor Rafael Girón from the University of Cordoba, a specialist on this subject matter. This edition will also feature two guest speakers, who will be contributing complementary vantage points from their own respective fields of research.
