On Thursday, April 29, we be hosting this oral storytelling performance for adult audience given by Héctor Urién, as part of the Nights of Ramadan. buy your ticket online now.

Storyteller Héctor Urién will be returning to Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Cordoba during the Nights of Ramadan to offer us tales about Laylat al-Qadr or the Night of Destiny.

According to tradition, Laylat al-Qadr or the Night of Destiny is the celebration which marks the date when the archangel Gabriel delivered the Qur’an, and it is almost surely believed to coincide with the 23rd or 24th night of Ramadan, though neither experts nor prophets are entirely in agreement on the matter. Which is a shame, because it is of the utmost importance to ascertain the exact date, as it is said that on that night the heavens are opened to all believers’ pleas, which God listens to, granting the wishes that have been made. This must be done at a very precise time, and the Arabian Nights document one curious case when such a plea was made. We will also be discussing other wishes that were most likely made on that same night.

The show will be held on Thursday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Casa Árabe’s main courtyard in Cordoba. Limited attendance. The decision on whether to hold this activity in person will depend upon the health situation at the time. Thank you for your patience.
