The Regional and International Implications of the Syrian Conflict

From October 15, 2013 until December 17, 2013

With the cooperation of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and FRIDE, we are organizing this seminar in order to increase awareness of the many facets of the Syrian conflict and their effects on international relations. It is intended for decision-makers and opinion leaders in Spain.

Held in a flexible debate format with a wide range of speakers, this seminar is meant to offer perspectives to construct an informed analysis of the Syrian reality and conflict. The event has been divided into three different sessions in which the following topics will be discussed: the current situation in Syria (the status of its economy, the main domestic role-players and the neighboring countries); the geopolitical interplay (the main role-players, winners and losers) and the potential scenarios in the near future.
