As part of the celebrations on Theater Night 2022, Casa Árabe is presenting Initiation Rite Fundamentals: The sacrifice, is a proposal by Laboratorio Inestable del Mohín.

Throughout history, human beings have been interested in the occult and traditionally based knowledge. Access to this wisdom, however, has always been quite out of reach for those seeking it in each new era. Initiations form part of these concealed fundamental rituals, with complex riddles and codified ceremonies that add mystery to an already inaccessible realm. In this performative exercise, the Laboratorio Inestable del Mohín will perform a review of sacrifice as a rite of initiation.

The Laboratorio Inestable del Mohín is a space for reflection based on the theory and practice of staging, always involving the subject of Muslim culture inhabiting the metropolis. The subject of study by this laboratory is the identity of that culture: how it is constructed, on the basis of what material and cultural references, how it relates to other subjectivities and collectivities, how it reflects upon itself (from what perspective and with what tools), and what “futures” it envisages.
