Madrid’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services has organized this day for the promotion of business, in Madrid on Thursday, June 2, with representatives of Tunisian institutions and a delegation of Tunisian companies to analyze the opportunities offered by the country.

To follow up on the series of online meetings organized about this country over the past two years by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Tunisia (FIPA-Tunisia) and Casa Árabe, this latest conference will be held in person at the Palacio de Santoña on June 2. It has been organized by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, Tunisia’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia), the Spanish-Tunisian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CTECI), the Tunisia Africa Business Council, the Autonomous Regional Government of Madrid and the Madrid City Council, with the cooperation of Casa Árabe.

Tunisia, with over 11 million inhabitants, has a top-rate business environment (ranked number 19 for doing business in terms of ease in starting up a company) and a privileged geographical location straddling Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It is expected to achieve 3.3% growth in GDP by 2022 according to the IMF. Tunisia also ranks number one in North Africa in terms of attracting talent according to the Global Talent Competitiveness Index. Political and trade relations between Spain and Tunisia are excellent, with Spain having become Tunisia’s seventh largest supplier in the world and its fourth largest customer.

Within this context, two strategic sectors will be given special attention at the conference: the agri-food industry and renewable energies. Among others, the event will be attended by the President of the General Public-Private Agency of Tunisia, Atef Majdoub, the Assistant Director General of Mediterranean Countries, Africa and the Middle East of Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Ana de Vicente Lancho, and the President of the Tunisia Africa Business Council, Anis Jaziri. The event will be introduced by the Ambassadors of Spain and Tunisia, the President of Madrid’s Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, Ángel Asensio, and the Director of the FIPA in Madrid, Ibrahim Medini, with moderation by Adel Mohsen Chaabane, President of CTECI.

This day of events will be held on Thursday, June 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (Palacio de Santoña, Calle Huertas, 13). Participation is free of charge, though you must sign up in advance by clicking on this link.
