Casa Árabe and the dance companies Tejido Conectivo and Al Badil will be presenting three choreographic pieces and a traditional Tunisian dance workshop open to the public in Madrid on Friday, May 16. In order to take part in the workshop, you must sign up here before the workshop is full!
As part of the “Tunisia 2025 Country Focus,” Casa Árabe is cooperating with the dance companies Tejido Conectivo (Spain) and Al Badil (Tunisia), in an event that coincides with the outdoor activities forming part of Madrid’s San Isidro festivities. This collaboration is taking place as a result of Al Badil’s presence in Spain as a guest at the Madrid Museum of History, within the framework of International Museum Day.
This includes the pieces Return (Volver), a solo performance by Tunisian dancer Sara Ben Bader (10 minutes); Garden of Questions (Jardín de preguntas), choreographed by Libertad Pozo with a reading of the poem Si he de morir (If I Must Die) by Refaat Alareer (12 minutes); Neighbours (Vecinos), a duo consisting of Tunisians Amine Mejri and Ahmed Tayaa, co-directed by Libertad Pozo and Al Badil Tunisia (20 minutes).
When the performance is over, we will be holding a traditional Tunisian dance workshop open to the public. The workshop is free of charge with prior registration by clicking on this link.
