In Spanish.

From November 18 to 26, Casa Árabe is hosting this laboratory for theatrical experimentation and reflection as part of the FLIPAS Festival. The initiative will be ending on Friday, November 26, with a publicly held activity.

“What should we talk about?” is an attempt to spur talk about questions that feel awkward to us, because they force us to seek answers. Some questions overwhelm us. They seem like harmless, innocent questions, but without meaning to, they reveal the secret of the person we are speaking with, dominating them through their responses. With this frame of mind, we have come to you today to be subjected to your questions. We promise we will be sincere. We promise not to remain silent and to tell nothing but the truth, whatever that may be. The Truth is worth the price we pay for it, no matter how high.

“What should we talk about?” is a proposal by Laboratorio Inestable del Mohín. This laboratory is a space for reflection based on theory and theatrical practice, dealing with the subject of the Muslim culture inhabiting the metropolis.  The subject of study by this laboratory is the identity of that culture: how it is constructed, on the basis of what material and cultural references, how it relates to other subjectivities and collectivities, how it reflects upon itself (from what perspective and with what tools), and what “futures” it envisages.
On this occasion, the lab will be holding its work sessions at Casa Árabe’s headquarters from November 18 to 26, with the participation of:

ANUAR KHALIFI - @anuarkhalifi
JAMAL FARRUK - @jamalfarrukk
SRA PREFORMER - @sra.preformer
KAYED AWAMLEH - @kayedawamleh
