On Saturday, October 2, we will be hosting this workshop for experiencing and transforming an exhibition into an educational and therapeutic resource, by touring the exhibition “Barzakh: Between worlds” as an example. You may now register.
As a complement to the exhibition “Barzakh: Between worlds, held at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid until October 17, we are offering this workshop intended for reflecting on how the contents of an exhibition can be transformed into educational and therapeutic resources. This workshop/lab titled “From Viewing to Transforming” is intended above all for professionals in the fields of education, social work and health, but anyone interested in using art as a tool for teaching or therapy may attend.
This work will be carried out by taking a guided tour of the exhibition, in which different dynamics will be proposed, inviting us to broaden, open and change our viewpoint on how to move through an artistic or cultural space, as well as the ways in which we can view the different worlds in which we dwell.
Arising from the experience of the exhibition tour will be different shared reflections and proposals with which we will collectively produce a guide of creative resources aimed at transforming cultural and educational spaces, to turn them into assets that promote psychosocial well-being.
The end goal will be to produce a transdisciplinary guide containing creative resources that can be applied in the fields of education, social work and therapy.
Throughout the workshop, we will also transform our way of being when spending time in cultural spaces. It will be a journey from a passive form of viewing to a transformative vantage point.
