Show by Nesma: Enta Omri
April 29 at 10:30 p.m., at the Teatro del Arte
An homage to Egyptian diva Umm Kulthum, starring Nesma and her company Al-Andalus Danza

“Enta Omri” is a choreographic work that pays a sincere and moving homage to the majestic diva of Arab music, Umm Kulthum, who left us 40 years ago.

In this show, Nesma creates a sketch of the singer’s career as a performer, from the traditional songs in her early movies to her famous, inimitable love poems. The show, which Nesma takes part in with four dancers and four musicians from her company, is built over a theatrical background: the wonderful musical performances, the elegant and emotional dances, accompanied by projections of images, use the stage to evoke the feelings which Umm Kulthum left etched in the collective memory of people all over the Arab world.
