BARCELONA Y MADRID
How has the coverage of conflicts changed? Why are peace processes failing? How has terrorism evolved over the last few decades? Why become a journalist? Reporters Ramón Lobo (Lagunillas, Venezuela, 1955) and Mikel Ayestaran (Beasain, Guipúzcoa, 1975) discuss these questions in an in-depth, critical and self-critical conversation that travels around the world.
Voces 5W is the new publishing project by 5W: an annual collection of books with inter-generational, intercultural or multidisciplinary dialogues about the world. In this first book, Guerras de ayer y de hoy (Wars of Yesterday and Today), Lobo and Ayestaran review how the conflicts in Palestine, Syria and Iraq have evolved and discuss the consequences that the West’s perception of Islam have had. A well-flowing dialogue about the war, war correspondents, freelancers and the trade of describing what is happening in the world, through the personal experience of both authors.
The book includes illustrations by Cinta Fosch. You can now buy the book online. and it will be reaching bookstores in early December, at a price of 12 euros. Revista 5W subscribers will receive it at home with no additional cost, as it is included in their subscription fee.
