To mark World Arabic Language Day on December 18, the CIHAR (Intercultural Spanish-Arab Circle) has declared “2021: Year of the Arabic Language” in a project that will be given the backing of the Casa Árabe Arabic Language Center, as well as those university departments and study centers dedicated to the Arabic language in Spain, in order to carry out a whole series of activities aimed at promoting this language in our country.

As a result of its conviction that language is a bridge for information and closer relationships between cultures, the CIHAR has created this project with the goal of joining efforts amongst university departments and centers where this language is studied in order to put on activities, conferences, seminars and social events to increase awareness about Arabic and the number of people interested in learning more about it.

The project was coordinated by Dr. Hanan Saleh Hussein, recently appointed as assistant president of the CIHAR, under the supervision of the Board of Directors. In order to coordinate the project, a website was created to serve as an information and meeting point for the different departments and study centers collaborating on the project.
