A Libyan delegation meets with Spanish business leaders at Casa Árabe
The meeting was organized by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Casa Árabe and Aresbank, with the with the cooperation of the Spanish Embassy in Libya. The delegation was led by Libya’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mohamed Abdulkader, along with the deputy ministers of Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and representatives from the National Oil Company.

The event’s official opening was presented by the General Director of Casa Árabe, Miguel Moro Aguilar, Libya’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mohamed Abdulkader, the President of Libya’s Union of Chambers of Commerce, Mohamed Raied, and the Managing Director of Aresbank, Javier Sierra. Also attending were the Ambassador of Spain in Libya, Javier Soria, the Ambassador of Libya in Spain, Walid Bashir Abuabdalla, and Sonsoles Valle Muñoz, head of the Economics and Trade Office of Spain’s Embassy in Libya.
The Libyan delegation also included the Deputy Ministers of Transport, Housing and Urban Development of Libya and top officials from the National Oil Corporation (NOC), as well as representatives from around 100 of the country’s leading companies, who arrived in Spain on the inaugural direct flight from Tripoli to Madrid on Tuesday, April 21.
During the meeting at Casa Árabe, representatives from Spanish companies were able to exchange views with top officials from Libyan companies—both public and private—in the sectors of oil, gas, electricity, ports, airports and logistics, agriculture, health and finance.
They also had the opportunity to visit the photo exhibition “Time Together: 2006-2026, 20 Years of Casa Árabe and Friendship Between Spain and the Arab World,” organized by the institution to mark its twentieth anniversary, featuring nearly ine hundred images that take a look back at two decades of political, economic and cultural relations between Spain and the Arab countries.
The meeting served as the grand finale to the Spain–Libya Business Meeting held that morning, a day of strategic exchanges between businesses from both countries, organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Spain’s State Secretary for Trade through the ICEX and the CEOE.
