Arabian Horse Week in Cordoba 

The program, to be held on November 7 and 8, includes two conferences, an exhibition and a showing of Arabian horses.

The “Week” will be held at Cordoba’s Visitors Welcoming Center. The first conference, dedicated to “The History of the Arabian Horse in Spain,” will be held on November 7 at 8:00 p.m. and will include the participation of Rosario Moyano Salvago, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine of Cordoba; Juan Antonio Fernández Acevedo, Lieutenant Colonel of the Cavalry and Head of Livestockat the CMCC in Écija; Rafael Ribas and García San Miguel, Colonel of the Cavalry; Andrew Steen, a historian and researcher, and José María del Cid y Fernández-Mensaque, a horse breeder since 1913, who will be in charge of moderating the round table discussion.
 
One day later at the same time, the next session will be devoted to “The Arabian Horse in Sports,” given by Francisco Castejón Montijano, a professor of Animal Physiology at the University of Cordoba; Irene Gómez Martínez-Sagrera, a trial horse breeder and competitor, and Isabel Cervantes Navarro, with a PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. This round table discussion will be moderated by Eduardo Sánchez Delage, a veterinarian and trial horse trainer. In both cases, there is free entry  until the event’s capacity is reached.
 
Moreover, simultaneous activities will be held from November 5 to 25, including the exhibition “The Arabian Horse and Cordoba” (Visitors Welcoming Center, during the general opening times to the public), and an exhibition of Arabian horses (mares and studs from the military’s herd of mares and Western and classical dressage horses), to be held on November 10 at noon in the Alcázar gardens. Free entry.
