The third edition of Grigri Pixel, planned for October 15 to 28 at Medialab Prado, will focus on the Right to the City, by activating objects and actions that will form part of a festive intervention, in the form of a pilgrimage on the Paseo del Prado. This workshop will include the participation of four artists and creators who were selected through an open call: Abdellah M. Hassak member of the Musée Collectif in Casablanca; Faty Kane of the Sahel Fablab in Nouakchott; Mama Kone, of Festival Art Femme in Bamako and Mmakhotso Lamola, if Limbic Resonance, in Cape Town. Also participating will be Lalya Gaye, from Newcastle, as a guest artist.
The workshop will be facilitated by Enorme Studio, a design and production office that works with experimental urban interventions; Blanca Callén, a researcher and professor at BAU, the University Design Center of Barcelona, and Yago Torroja, an electronic engineer and professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
As part of the workshop, a round table discussion will also be held with the title “The Right to the City: A right to other urban imaginaries” with the participation of: Ibrahima Wane, a professor at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar; Monza KANE limam, a rapper and cultural activist from Nouakchott; Cherimus an artistic collective from Sardinia, and Itziar González, an architect and urbanist from Barcelona.
