Spain condemns in the strongest of terms both the attack perpetrated on February 14 against a cultural center in Copenhagen, in which one person lost his life and another three were injured, and the attack perpetrated against a synagogue on February 15, in which one person died.
The government of Spain would like to express its condolences to the family members and friends of the victims, to the Jewish community of Copenhagen, and to the people and authorities of Denmark.
Casa Árabe, as a Spanish public institution, joins all those who strongly condemn these acts and wishes to express its deepest sorrow to all those affected.
Spain reaffirms its full solidarity with the Danish authorities and its resolution of defending freedom of expression, which no act of violence can intimidate.
The horrific parallels between the terrorist attacks last weekend in Copenhagen and those perpetrated in Paris last January will be reflected in our identical response to both crimes: a more united Europe with even greater resolution in the fight against terrorism and in the defense of freedoms of expression and conscience, and all those shared values which form part of our European identity.
