Casa Árabe at the Hay Festival in Arequipa

For yet another year, the institution is collaborating with this festival, to be held in Peru from November 6 to 10, allowing for the participation of authors Randa Jarrar and Karima Ziali, who will be taking part in different events on November 8 and 10.

The activities in which they will be participating are as follows: 

New narrative paradigms 
Official narrative, non-hegemonic narratives. In what types of spaces do the participants in this talk see their work? We will be speaking with Hamja Ahsan (UK), Agustina Bazterrica (Argentina), Ekaitz Cancela (Spain) and Juan Manuel Robles (Peru) about their forms of narration and their choices when telling stories and portraying reality. In conversation with Karima Ziali

The event will be held at the Municipal Theater on Friday, November 8 at 10:00 a.m., with simultaneous translation from English to Spanish provided. The ticket price is 3.60 euros. 

This event has been given the support of the British Council, Acción Cultural Española, AC/E and Casa Árabe. 

Identity and diaspora in literature 
Literary characters who question their own identity or seek a space of their own. The reality of migration, exile and diaspora, as in life, is reflected in literature. Karina Pacheco will be talking with Palestinian-American writer Randa Jarrar, Spanish-Moroccan writer Karima Ziali.and the British writer of Indian heritage, Hari Kunzru, about his books and literary explorations, as well as how these topics of displacement, migration and diaspora have influenced his literature. 

The event will be held on Sunday, November 10 at 12:00 pm., at the North American Peruvian Cultural Center (in the theater). Simultaneous translation from English to Spanish will be provided. The ticket price is 3.60 euros.
