During the events, attendees were able to meet with leading specialists from different units and centers of Spain’s Civil Guard, as well as taking part in debates and exchange experiences. Among the issues addressed, they were able to gain familiarity with the Spanish police system, strategic analysis of public security at the EU level, EU security strategies and tools which simplify the information and intelligence sharing between police authorities, collecting information to deal with complex terrorist organizations, tools for analyzing criminal intelligence data, the role played by the police in public security crisis management, international cooperation and intelligence sharing to fight organized crime and terrorism, and the challenges and operational capabilities related with strategic and operational intelligence in the integrated management of external EU borders.
Holding this training at Casa Árabe strengthens our cooperation with Spain’s Civil Guard University Center (CUGC), which has offered similar specialized courses at the institution’s Madrid headquarters on prior occasions, to cover such important issues as crime prevention (2023), leadership in counter-terrorism policy (2024), terrorist financing and organized crime (2024), and law enforcement in leadership and management (2025).
