Casa Árabe receives the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohamed Shia Al Sudani

On Thursday, November 28, Casa Árabe’s General Director, Irene Lozano, held a talk with the Iraqi leader, who is visiting Spain to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, held at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid and attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps along with Spanish businessmen, Casa Árabe’s General Director highlighted the importance of continuing to create meeting spaces in order to promote Arab culture. She also agreed with Al Sudani about the importance of supporting a cease-fire in Gaza that would make stability in the region possible.

In that sense, the purpose of the Iraqi delegation includes strengthening the presence of international construction, energy and infrastructure companies in the country. Al Sudani gave as an example the Spanish company Imathia, which just signed an agreement for the construction of a railway line in Iraq.

The Iraqi Prime Minister’s visit to Casa Árabe took place on Thursday, November 28, as part of his trip to Spain, during which he held meetings with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and King Felipe VI.
