Casa Árabe Welcomes the High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations
On the occasion of his trip to Spain this week, the new High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Nassir Al Nasser, visited the Cordoba headquarters of Casa Árabe on February 20, having been invited to do so by this institution.

In addition to visiting the Cordoba headquarters of Casa Árabe, the High Representative went to the City Hall, where he met with the Mayor of Cordoba, José Antonio Nieto Ballesteros, and signed the city government’s Book of Honor. He also visited the city’s famous Mosque and historical quarter.
Last of all, he attended a lunch with authorities, who included Juan José Primo Jurado, Assistant Deputy of the Government in Cordoba, Salvador Fuentes Lopera, First Vice President of the Provincial Government, and Carmen Galán Soldevilla, Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation at the University of Cordoba.
As part of this same visit, Nassir Al Nasser, who will be fully taking over his position after the Vienna Forum which is held on February 27-28, thereby succeeding Jorge Sampaio in this role, met with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, José Manuel García-Margallo, on February 19 to review the most important of current events, above all the social and political situation in the Mediterranean.
