Circulation of manuscripts on the Iberian Peninsula in the Roman, Visigoth and Muslim eras

Casa Árabe is hosting this seminar, organized by the Freie Universität of Berlin, at its headquarters in Cordoba on the dates of October 5 and 6.

The seminar will revolve around identifying and analyzing the manuscripts with legal content that were in circulation and use on the Iberian Peninsula during the aforementioned eras, as well as their endurance, development and influence in legal practice.

To do so, we will be hearing from specialists on the topic (Ancient History, Legal History and Roman Law) at various universities in Spain and Germany.

The seminar was organized by the Freie Universität Berlin, Excellenzcluster Topoi (B-I-2) and the Spanish Institute of Historical Legal Sciences, and coordinated by Professors Ignacio Czeguhn, Yolanda Quesada Morillas, Julián Hurtado de Molina Delgado and Jens-Olaf Lindermann. Cooperation was also provided by Casa Árabe, the Municipal Government of Cordoba and the Provincial Government Office of Cordoba.
