Course on artistic education for diversity and cultural rights
On the dates of July 23 and 24, Casa Árabe is hosting this course for
teachers, organized by ConArte Internacional, at the Casa Árabe
headquarters in Madrid.

The course is given fully free of charge, and up to 20 educators from Madrid may take part.
It will be held on the dates of July 23 and 24 at Casa Árabe, with a duration of 12 hours, and will be acknowledged with 1.2 educational credits from the Autonomous Region of Madrid.
WHO IS GIVING THE COURSE?
The course will be taught by a specialist in Cultural Rights and Cultural Diversity, Beatriz Barreiro, holder of a PhD in Human Rights from the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid. She is particularly concerned with the practical applications of her research projects, completed at different institutions, including the Max Planck Institute of Social Anthropology. She will be accompanied by Marcela Otárola, who has a bachelor’s degree in Arts with a specialization in theatrical performance from the University of Chile and a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar. Marcela has worked in Chile as a cultural event host at the National Council of Culture and the Arts. She is currently the director of Asociación ConArte Internacional.
This course is being given as part of the project “A Tunisian-Spanish bridge for counter acting violent extremism and xenophobia by providing the right to take part in cultural life” financed by the European Cultural Foundation.
HOW MAY PARTICIPATE? Primary school teachers, secondary school teachers and pre-school teachers from the Autonomous Region of Madrid.

CERTIFICATION: 1.3 credits (teacher training activity acknowledged by the Department of Education and Research of the Autonomous Region of Madrid)
OBTAINING A CERTIFICATE:
Requirements:
• Attendance of at least 85% of the total class hours during the in-person part of the activity, provided that any times of non-attendance have been properly justified.
• Proper achievement in the course, as evaluated by the person responsible for the activity.
