Courtesy Visit to the Palestinian Ambassador

The director general of Casa Árabe, Miguel Moro Aguilar, visited the Palestinian Embassy in Madrid today, where he paid a courtesy call on the new ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Fadi Elhusseini.

At the meeting, held on September 10, the director of Casa Árabe welcomed the ambassador, who joined the Embassy in late July. Together, they discussed the current situation in the region and expressed their commitment to maintaining the excellent relations between the two organizations, as well as to collaborating on the organization of joint projects and activities with shared objectives.

On July 27, Ambassador Fadi Elhusseini formally presented copies of his Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Spain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation. With this act, he officially began exercising his diplomatic functions in our country, pending the subsequent ceremony for the presentation of the original Letters of Credence to His Majesty the King at the Royal Palace in Madrid.

Spain recognized the State of Palestine on May 28, 2024. Diplomatic relations between the two countries are very strong, whether in the economic, scientific-academic, or cooperative spheres. Likewise, collaboration between the Palestinian Embassy and Casa Árabe has been ongoing since the institution’s founding, with the organization of events, exhibitions, debates, book presentations, concerts, and film screenings dedicated to the country, among other initiatives.
