In line with the first edition, published in 2014, the study analyzes topics involving energy security, non-conventional hydrocarbons and the role of China in the global energy scene, but this year it also includes three works with a territorial focus, about “The energy Impact of Conflicts in the Middle East,” written by Francisco José Berenguer Hernández, “Russia and European Energy Security,” by Francisco José Ruiz González, and “The Arctic and Energy,” by Vicente López-Ibor Mayor, as well as two chapters of a cross-cutting nature, on “Universal Access to Electricity and Its Role in the Fight Against Poverty,” by Carlos Sallé Alonso, and “The International Situation and Prospects for Nuclear Electrical Energy,” written by Antonio Colino Martínez.
The study was presented at an event inside the Repsol Campus Auditorium in Madrid, during an official opening event given by the State Secretary of Defense, Pedro Argüelles Salaverría, the President of Repsol, Antonio Brufau Niubó, the President of the Spanish Energy Club, Pedro Miró Roig, the Director of the IEEE, Artillery Brigade General Miguel Ángel Ballesteros Martín, and the President of the CECME, Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri.
