Ikram Bouloum (1993) is a multi-directional driving force in art. Born in the Catalan town of Torelló to Moroccan parents, Ikram has been living in Barcelona for ten years, where she has developed and vindicated herself as a cultural agitator, participating in programming and research for numerous projects while performing in many of the city’s clubs and urban collectives (Nitsa Club, MUTEK, Club Marabú, Loom, Voodoo Club, etc.). Her sessions are designed to tell a story through sound literature, and her club utopia is a polyphonic space where many voices are represented at the same time.

In 2021, Ikram released her first EP, “Ha-BB5,” which combines a tragedy and a birth across five tracks produced by Mans O, who accompanied her on his visit to Condeduque. The project’s goal is to produce an aesthetic dialogue between the most contemporary electronic music from the West with a personal reinterpretation of pop and dance music aesthetics from North Africa. Feminist, emancipated and innovative, the music in “Ha-BB5” explores a radical sound that destroys the two establishments in the dichotomy of cultural shock, in order to create an empowered and safe space of its own. The sound in the EP follows aesthetics based on cultural and personal heritage as a counterpoint to the contemporary, given form in languages such as Amazigh, Catalan and English. In its most literal sense, “5” is a reference to the number five, or in other words,khamsa. In Amazigh, it is also known as the “Hand of Fatima”: symbol of protection and defense.
