International Journalism Awards Ceremony

The General Director of Casa Árabe, Eduardo López Busquets, has received the award given by the Association of Arab Journalists and Writers in Spain, as part of the International Press Club awards ceremony,

The awarding of the International Journalism Prizes which the International Press Club gives out each year took place on May 8 in Madrid’s Retiro Park. This year, the award winners were professionals Luis Pérez López, of TVE; Adela Mac Swiney, of the Notimex agency; Spanish journalist Ramón Lobo, the Luca de Tena Foundation, and the magazine Mongolia.

In addition to the Prize from the Association of Arab Journalists and Writers in Spain, which was awarded to Eduardo López Busquets, consisting of a work of sculpture by an artist from Orense, Acisclo Manzano, during the event the Prize of the Iberian-American Press Correspondents Association was also awarded, in this case to Radio Exterior de España.

The awards ceremony was attended by a large number of well-known persons from the Spanish political, informational and cultural worlds, including the President of the Congress, Jesús Posada; the President of the Audiencia Nacional, Ángel Juanes; the President of the Plenary Session of the Municipal Government of Madrid, Ángel Garrido, and a large number of CIP members, as well as others.

The event was presented by journalist Helena Resano and included speeches by Carmen Enríquez, President of the CIP, and Ramón Lobo, who spoke on behalf of all the prize winners.
