Meeting between Casa Árabe’s Director and the Ambassador of Lebanon 

On March 27, Miguel Moro Aguilar, our institution’s director, held a meeting in Madrid with Hala Keyrouz, Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon.

During the meeting, the two discussed the history of cooperation between the two entities and explored ways to strengthen and lend continuity to this joint work in the coming months.

The cultural and educational relations between Spain and Lebanon have grown increasingly intense by promoting the creation of Spanish Departments at the Schools of Language in Lebanese universities. Similarly, the importance of the Spanish language among the large Lebanese diaspora on every continent, especially in those regions where Spanish is spoken, should be highlighted.

In recent years, the main activities for cooperation carried out in the country have formed part of the MASAR Program, a regional plan for Spanish cooperation with the Arab world. In 2023, Lebanon was considered a priority country for Spanish Cooperation effort.
