They also discussed the potential for carrying out joint actions to promote the Emirates’ culture through activities aimed at different audiences, to be held at Casa Árabe.
Relations between Spain and the UAE have traditionally been very good and are currently going through a positive time period, as can be seen in the frequent meetings held between the two governments through the Political Consultations mechanism, the Joint Economic Commission, the countries’ visits and collaboration which has occurred in various forums.
Spain’s strategic interests in the UAE have increased in recent years, both politically and economically, with exponential growth in both the number of Spanish residents in the UAE and the number of Spanish companies doing business in the country. On the Emirati side, there is also a considerable investment interest in Spain, which has been reflected, for example, in the purchase of the Spanish company CEPSA by the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala.
