Meeting with the the Oman Ambassador to Spain at Casa Árabe 

The diplomat, Thamir bin Faiz Al-Alawi, was welcomed by our institution General Director, Miguel Moro Aguilar, in Madrid. 

During their meeting, held on April 28, the two officials took a look back at the past cooperation between the two institutions and discussed potential activities which they could carry out together in the near future.

Spain and the Sultanate of Oman established diplomatic relations in 1972, and that country has had an ambassador in our country since 2006. Although the Omani market is small (5% of the GCC’s GDP), over the last decade bilateral foreign trade between Spain and Oman has trended towards steady growth, although it remains modest. The most significant Spanish companies working in the country (20 in 2023) belong to the sectors of consulting, infrastructure, oil, gas, desalination plants or water treatment, and waste management.
