MADRID
The exhibition is a journey through the different historical eras of Al-Andalus, as of the period of the Emirs and the Cordoba Caliphate until it broke apart into the so-called “Taifa Kingdoms,” and the later African invasions by the Almoravid and Almohad peoples, without setting aside the Nasrid kingdom of Granada.

Metal plays the starring role in these exhibition halls, where you can see the full details on the extraction of materials at the mine, their later processing and the production completed in the end. The exhibition has brought together the most important masterpieces of metal work from Al-Andalus, providing us with both a look at the society of that era and a view of the technical precision and aesthetic beauty in the works themselves.

The exhibition is free of charge and can be seen at the National Archeology Museum until April 26, 2020.
