Organized by the Spanish Association of Arabian Horse Breeders (AECCA) and the Municipal Tourism Institute of Cordoba (IMTUR), the championship forms part of the “Autumn of Horses” program promoted by the Municipal Government of Cordoba to strengthen Cordoba’s relationship with the equestrian world.

The National Arabian Horse Championship will include the participation of livestock farms from all over Spain and will help provide momentum to the “Cordoba, Cultural Capital of Horses” brand. The city’s Tourism Department is planned to handle the invitations to ambassadors from Arab countries, and those on the guest list include Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, which also have equestrian traditions and followers of these types of events, as well as this horse breed.

At this edition of the championship, the National Arabian Horse Breeders’ Association plans to see a record number of participants. The contest, to be governed by ECAHO regulations, will be starting off on Saturday, November 9 at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until 4:00 in the afternoon. The morning session will be the one where we see younger horses and adults, with awards given out at the end of each section.

On Sunday, November 10, also starting at 9:00 a.m., will be the awards ceremony for special prizes given to the best breeder, best family, the horse which displays the best moves and the trophy for the best national contender.  As for the championships, there will be foal and filly categories, as well as mares and studs, and once the competition is over, the awards ceremony will follow.
