July 7 is the deadline to apply for this opportunity, which forms part of a cooperation program between Matadero Madrid and the Qattan Foundation.

June 28, 2019
MADRID / PALESTINA
Matadero Madrid, as a center for contemporary creation, has an artist-in-residency program to provide support to creators in a very broad sense of this term, providing orientation without limits in terms of the potential residents who may take part: artists, researchers, thinkers, cultural agents, etc. Thus, this mobility program seeks to create bonds between art communities, in this case between those in Palestine and Spain, through a residencies exchange that is taking place between Matadero Madrid’s artist-in-residency program and that of the A.M. Qattan Foundation, an independent non-profit organization that works in the fields of culture and education, with a specific emphasis on childhood, educators and young artists.

Moreover, following the strategic lines of work carried out by the AECID (the Spanish International Development Cooperation Agency), the basic goal of this cooperation is to create contacts that transcend the time period of the residency itself, forming networks between institutions, artists and local cultural role-players, as well as having an effect on the research of themes which are of concern to the Agency. One specific purpose of this opportunity is to enable international travel for two visual artists, providing them a chance to take part in the artist-in-residency program at the A.M. QATTAN FOUNDATION (AMQF).

The residency dates are from September 23 through December 8, 2019.
Deadline for registration: July 7, 2019
