Orient. Magical Geographies
A speech on Thursday 2nd and a concert on Thursday June 16th will be the contribution of Casa Árabe to the program "Orient. Magical Geographies" organized in Madrid by the Teatro Español.

Joaquín María Córdoba, professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid, will give a speech on García de Silva, ambassador of Philip III of Spain to Isfahan, which is included in the season “Orient. Magical Geographies”.
Casa Árabe will host this opening speech of the season devoted to those Spanish travellers captured by Orient.
The event will take place at Casa Árabe’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 19.30. Free entrance.
THURSDAY, JUNE 16th. CONCERT Ali Khattab
The Egyptian guitar player Ali Khattab releases in Madrid his album Al Zarqa, composed while he was living in Jerez de la Frontera, and which compiles all of the Flamenco traditional varieties, palos (soleas, seguiriyas, tarantas, tangos and rumbas) with its Orient fore-genres, the traditional Middle East maqamat (hijaz, rast, nawaathar and nahawand).
Within the concert, Ali Khattab’s guitar sound mixes with Hesham Essam oud melodies and with Mohamed Medhat’s violin harmonies, two of the most brilliant young Cairo musicians.
The concert will take place at Casa Árabe’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 20.00. Free entrance, prior ticket collection at Casa Árabe on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th (from 12.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00) and Wednesday 16th (from 12.00 to 14.00).
