To mark the annual celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Casa Árabe organizes in Madrid a concert and a conference regarding the topic on November 22th and 23th.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 22. Kamilya Jubran in concert

Kamilya Jubran was born in Akka to Palestinian family very much related to the musical environment. Her father, an instrument maker and a music teacher, established her first contact with classical Arabic music. Kamilya is a well-known player of Oud, Qanoon, and other oriental instruments. Since 2002, Kamilya toured with her first project Mahattaat, then Wameedd, mixing and roaming with European musicians. In the concert in Madrid she will be accompanied by the musician Werner Hasler.

At Teatro Fígaro in Madrid (c/ Doctor Cortezo, 5) at 20.00. Free admission prior to ticket collection on November 18th and 19th from 12.00 to 20.00 in Casa Árabe (c/ Alcalá, 62). Maximum, two tickets by person.
 

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 23. Round table on “Jerusalem. Symbol and obstacle”

Round table with participants such as Meir Margalit, Jerusalem's counsellor by the Meretz party, Nazmi al-Jubbe, professor at the Ber Zeit  University, and Ramón Ansoaín, Ambassador and former General Consul of Spain in Jerusalem.

At the Casa Árabe's Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62), at 19.30. Free entrance.
