Presentation of “Arda’s Powers” and Poetry Recital by Pepe and Nuria Mediavilla
This year, Casa Árabe is cooperating with the festival Eutopía 2017, a Festival for Youth Creativity, with the presentation of this show.

CÓRDOBA
The event, which will be held on Saturday, October 14, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Casa Árabe’s headquarters (at Calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9) will include the following sessions:
•Screening of a preview of the cinematics in the prologue of “Arda’s Powers.”
•Reading and dramatization of a few selected texts from the work, and others designed specifically for the occasion, with the city of Cordoba and its culture as the main features.
•Recital of poetry from Andalusia and the rest of Spain, selected by Pepe Mediavilla.
•Father and daughter will be recreating a dialogue between the characters in the Legendarium: Gandalf and Galadriel, taken from the movie script of “The Battle of the Five Armies.”
•The musicians will be performing compositions of their own, as well as covers.
PEPE MEDIAVILLA
Pepe Mediavilla is one of the most prestigious dubbing actors. His career in the world of movie dubbing in Spanish has lasted over fifty years, and he has taken part in more than two thousand audiovisual productions, the most notable of which include his incarnation of Gandalf in six films, the voice of the Storm Troopers, the roles played by Morgan Freeman, and hundreds of poems which this master has shared with the world selflessly each week on his YouTube channel. His is a career which is far from over.
Pepe treasures Cordoba deeply within his heart and has dreamed about visiting it again after his work as a narrator for the audio guide of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba.
NURIA MEDIAVILLA
Nuria Mediavilla began working in dubbing in 1973 and has been the regular voice actor for Helena Bonham-Carter, Juliette Binoche, Jodie Foster, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Connelly, Jennifer López, Cameron Díaz and Angelina Jolie, as well as others. She is also the voice of Lady Galadriel in “The Lord of the Rings” and Princess Fiona in the Shrek trilogy.
Amongst the films in which she has worked are such well-known features as “Cyrano de Bergerac,” “Fried Green Tomatoes,” “Pulp Fiction,” “Sense and Sensibility,” the “Shrek” and “Kill Bill” sagas, “Les Misérables” and “Sweeney Todd.”
MIGUEL LINARES
His devotion to music is aimed towards work as a composer, with a highlight on compositions for original music and sound spaces for theatrical shows, including 100m2, La Monja Alférez CDN, Páncreas (Concha Busto productions and CDN), Babette’s Feast (SEDA and Teatro Calderón), Lorca by Juan Carlos Rubio (Histrión). Moreover, he has been a composer for films and written compositions for flamenco guitar and orchestras.
