The new strategy includes one hundred measures with the main objective of strengthening relations with that continent, now undergoing an economic, political and social transformation, while playing an increasingly important role in the international community and more aware of its strength.

Along these lines, the Spain-Africa Strategy aims to guide Spain’s activities in Africa based on the principle of partnership and mutual respect and benefit, listening to African partners, with an emphasis on multilateralism.

It also takes a fresh look at the continent of Africa, based on respect amongst equals while seeking to generate mutually beneficial synergies, thus acknowledging African countries as strategic partners with their own leadership abilities and roles to play.

Casa Árabe’s General Director, Irene Lozano, attended the presentation, highlighting the importance of public diplomacy as the central focus of Casa Árabe’s activities. She was joined by the directors of Casa Mediterráneo, Andrés Perelló, and Casa África, José Segura Clavel.
