The idea of the project “From Oblivion to Action” was conceived by Madrid resident Ana Kontos, who traveled by bicycle across thousands of miles until reaching the island of Lesbos, with her boyfriend and their dog, in order to witness the real situation of refugees for themselves. After one month there, she returned to Spain with the steadfast intention of helping all these forgotten people who are suffering complete abandonment.

The Associations for Parents of Students (AMPAs) at the public educational centers in the district of Arganzuela (Madrid) have combined efforts along with the NGO “Te doy mi llave” to organize a day of solidarity for increasing awareness to be held on the upcoming date of May 6 in Madrid Río (Paseo de la Chopera, 10) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The day will include a series of workshops, shows and activities, the purpose of which is to get a closer look at the reality of refugees among the attending audience members, under the direction of volunteers committed to this cause. The event is open to all audiences, and entry is free of charge.
