The General Director of Casa Árabe, Eduardo López Busquets, welcomed a delegation of representatives from 33 United Nations (UN) countries, most originating from Africa, the Pacific and the Caribbean, to our Cordoba headquarters. This diplomatic entourage was also received by the Assistant Government Delegate in Cordoba, Juan José Jurado, and the city’s Mayor, José Antonio Nieto.
These permanent representative ambassadors to the United Nations, who are in Spain to take part in a seminar on Water as a Key Factor for Peace, Stability, Development and Human Rights, organized by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, took advantage of their stay in the city to discover the most emblematic monuments of Arab civilization in Cordoba, including the Alcazar and Mosque.
This activity forms part of the schedule of events being held to support Spain’s candidacy to enter the United Nations Security Council.
