At the end of the encounter, they got to visit the exhibition “From Babel to the Last King of Iraq,” currently on display at the Madrid headquarters of Casa Árabe.
The Master’s degree in Ongoing Education in International Cooperation at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid’s School of Political Science and Sociology is celebrating its fortieth anniversary during the academic year of 2025-26. Offered since 1985, it is the oldest of all graduate programs in this field of knowledge at any university in Spain.
It offers a comprehensive approach to development and the role of international cooperation, addressing development theories, the international cooperation system, geographical particularities, arenas of activity and the management of interventions amongst the most vulnerable communities and groups.
To complement this coursework, visits are organized to become familiar with a wide range of role-playing institutions working in Spanish, regional and international cooperation (AECID, Casa Árabe, SEGIB, the EU and others); curricular internships are held during the academic year at prestigious institutions; and end-of-Master’s final projects (“TFMs”) are supervised with close attention and dedication.
Over 1,300 students from every continent have passed through the MCI’s classrooms, showing diversity that further enriches the academic and professional experience. Graduates hold management positions and work both at headquarters and in the field as staff members of international organizations, consulting firms, public agencies, NGDOs, universities and thinktanks, as well as other entities.
