The event will be taking place at the Casa Árabe Auditorium in Cordoba (at Calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9) at 7:30 p.m. and will include talks by Ana Maria López, Assistant Delegate of the Spanish Government in Cordoba; Rocío G. Cabello, Doc. specializing in music from World War Two, and Cristina G. Sarasa, President of the Asociación Triángulo Azul. To round off the event, we will get the chance to see a musical performance by Dúo Metha.
The updated version of the website provides a regionalized map of the province and the origin of each of these reprisals, as well as a search engine to find the victims and testimonials from their relatives, sounds from this holocaust, educational works, bibliographic collections and the creation of photographic and videographic material on the deportees and their families. It took three years of work and research to bring to light the lives of those people from Cordoba who fought against Nazism.
The site came about after the signing of an agreement between the Provincial Council of Cordoba and the Asociación Triangulo Azul Stolpersteine of Cordoba and Jaén, formed on April 10, 2021, also with the help of the grant awarded by Spain’s Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory for the development of many of the resources contained in the site.
The Asociación Triángulo Azul Stolpersteine of Cordoba and Jaén is a non-profit organization whose priority and central purpose is to recover, increase awareness, pay tribute and perform all other work related to the historical memory of those people in exile and deportees from Cordoba and Jaén to Nazi concentration camps. One of its main objectives is to develop and disseminate educational projects aimed at educating and increasing awareness about educational content oriented towards compulsory secondary school and baccalaureate students.
