CREMONA
The ceremony is held in different locations, and every year four awards are given out to translators and institutions devoted to translation (two from the southern shore of the Mediterranean and two from the northern shore). Work by translators who create bridges between these two shores is most highly valued. As of today, all the awards granted to translators from the southern shore have come from the Arab world (Saleh Almani, Khadim Jihad, the National Translation Center of Egypt, the Schools of Translators of Tangiers and Beirut, etc.), though it is not restricted to just the Arab world but also includes Turkey, Israel and any other country or language along the shores of the Mediterranean.
