In March 2018, The Palestinian Museum’s doors first open. It is located in a modern building designed by the Heneghan Peng Studio near Bir Zeit University on the outskirts of Ramallah. Last October, we were visited by its director, Adila Laïdi-Hanieh, who presented the museum’s program of activities, which uses the Palestinian art community as a point of reference, including the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, as well as the immense Palestinian diaspora.

On the occasion of the recent commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, Casa Árabe gave a virtual tour with subtitles in Spanish, of the exhibition “Luces de naranjales (“Orange Grove Lights”), recently organized by the museum.

In this video, we will learn more about the Palestinian Museum from its director and get a closer look at this exhibition, which explores representations of Palestinian geography, land and nature through a selection of political posters. The museum has an important collection of posters and political signs, which bear witness to their great aesthetic and narrative value about the recent history of the Palestinian people, especially since the 1970s.
