Visit by representatives of the Regional Government of Iraqi Kurdistan 

A delegation consisting of Darawan Hamid Ghaffar, the representative of the Regional Government of Iraqi Kurdistan in Spain, Azhi Yassin Rasul, the Head of Consular and University Affairs, and Marina Sánchez Filiberti, Head of Culture, visited Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid. 

Casa Árabe’s General Director, Miguel Moro Aguilar, held a meeting with a delegation from the Regional Government of Iraqi Kurdistan, which included Darawan Hamid Ghaffar, the representative of the Regional Government of Iraqi Kurdistan in Spain, Azhi Yassin Rasul, the Head of Consular and University Affairs, and Marina Sánchez Filiberti, Head of Culture. During their meeting, both parties addressed a range of issues related with strengthening the cultural, academic and diplomatic relations between Spain and the Iraqi Kurdistan region, within the context of the relations regularly maintained with the Iraqi embassy.  

The meeting forms part of Casa Árabe’s work on Iraq during this half of the year, and the surrounding region, from a cultural and academic perspective. This furthers Casa Árabe’s role as an instrument for public diplomacy and a platform for cooperation with countries and regions in the Arab world, reaffirming its commitment to promoting bilateral relations and understanding between Spain and the diverse societies in the Arab world.
