Visit by the Diversity Management Unit of the Madrid City Police
A delegation of officers visited the institution’s headquarters in
Madrid, where they met with its director, Miguel Moro Aguilar, to
explore the potential for cooperation.

The Diversity Management Unit of the Madrid City Police Department performs specialized work to support victims of hate crimes, as well as acts of discrimination and intolerance based on racism and xenophobia, sexual orientation and identity, gender, religious practices, ethnic origin, social exclusion, functional diversity, disability, aporophobia and ideology.
It works with the technical committees and working groups of the aforementioned, and has agreements in place with each of them.
Its main roles are to:
- Receive reports on hate crimes committed both in person and through social media.
- Provide assistance, protection and guidance to victims.
- Work with NGOs that support victims and defend human rights.
- Coordinate with the different departments of the City Police. This unit also specializes in assisting, treating and receiving reports from people who have any sort of disability (physical, organic, sensory and intellectual).
It has specialized staff trained to work with vulnerable groups. It currently has cooperation agreements with several entities: Plena Inclusión, CERMI Madrid, Fundación a la Par and Fundación ONCE.
