Visit from the Algerian Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (IDRI)

Casa Árabe received the visit of a delegation from the Algerian Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (IDRI), an agency run under the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, which works to train diplomats and study strategic international issues.

MADRID
Casa Árabe’s General Director, Miguel Moro Aguilar, held a meeting with Ambassador Mohamed Bachir Mazzouz, the cultural attaché of the Embassy of Algeria, Amira Ichrak Chabouni, and Prof. Cherif Driss, during which they had the opportunity to exchange views on cultural and academic relations between the two countries.

The IDRI delegation was thus able to gain first-hand knowledge about the role which Casa Árabe plays as a public institution for cultural diplomacy, committed to strengthening the ties between Spain and Arab countries. Their visit included a tour of the exhibition “From Babel to the Last King of Iraq,” currently on display at our Madrid headquarters.

In recent years, Casa Árabe has carried out various activities focused on Algeria, including film series, conferences on Algerian history and politics, literary presentations and collaborative activities with the Algerian Embassy to promote cultural and academic dialogue. This visit strengthens our shared desire to continue promoting mutual understanding and institutional cooperation between Spain and Algeria.
