Registration is now open for this conference on the creation of meetings and alliances between Spain and the Gulf countries, to be held on Tuesday, December 13 at Casa Árabe's headquarters in Cordoba.

In recent years, the development of transportation, audiovisual media and digitalization has allowed sports and cultural events to mobilize and become followed by millions of people from different corners of the world. This has multiplied the capacity of sports and culture as vehicles for encounters and knowledge, as well as their economic impact on diverse sectors and geographic locations.

To analyze these issues and the opportunities for cooperation and exchange generated by sports, culture and mobility in different business arenas, Casa Árabe and CECO, in collaboration with LaLiga and the Cordoba City Council (Municipal Institute for Economic Development and Employment of Cordoba, IMDEEC), are organizing the business conference "Culture, Mobility and Sports: the creation of meetings and alliances from Spain to the Gulf," to be held on December 13 in Cordoba.

The conference will examine the value of sports as a vector of development and economic engine, as well as a promoter of exchanges between societies and cultures. With the participation of companies and institutions specializing in these sectors, we aim to promote the internationalization of Spanish companies as key growth vectors. The opportunities for cooperation and exchange created by sports, culture and mobility in different fields of business between Spain and Arab countries will be fundamental and essential for the future of both regions.

It will be divided into three round table discussions. The first, dedicated to analyzing the relationship between "Meeting spaces, mobility and sport,” will be moderated by Blanca Torrent Cruz, second deputy mayor, delegate for Digital Transformation and Innovation, and will feature an initial speech by the Qatari ambassador to Spain, Abdulla bin Ibrahim Abdulrahman Sultan Al Hamar. The second session will analyze the intersection between "Culture, Heritage and Sustainability,” focusing on the promotion of culture and heritage in the organization of international, cultural and sporting events, and will be moderated by Joaquín Gisbert, secretary general of CECO. A third session will present the experiences of companies from Cordoba in the region, with some success stories, and will be moderated by Agustín López Ortiz, territorial delegate of Economics, Finance and European Funds and Industrial Policy and Energy in Cordoba.

The opening session will begiven by Irene Lozano, General Director of Casa Árabe, and Antonio Díaz, President of CECO and the Cordoba Chamber of Commerce. José María Bellido Roche, Mayor of Cordoba, will be closing off the conference.

The conference forms part of the activities of the "Football for Hope" program organized by Casa Árabe in collaboration with LaLiga, RTVE, Diario As and the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD), to highlight the value of sports as a universal language to bring the reality of the Arab world closer to Spanish society, and the power of football, in particular, as a tool to achieve more inclusive societies, within the framework of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the first to be held in an Arab country.
