Program - Madrid IMEX Fair
Madrid from April 18 to 22, has been organized this year under the SDG headings for “internationalization” and “Impulso África.”
Over five days and at four venues (Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, the Palacio de Cibeles, Ceoe and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce), the conference will examine the current challenges faced by the export sector, highlighting the importance of including the SDGs (sustainable development goals) into the business fabric in order to create a sustainable internationalization plan and make the most of the opportunities which Africa offers Spanish companies in their internationalization process.
As part of this week of activities, Casa Árabe’s Director General, Irene Lozano Domingo, will be taking part on behalf of this entity in the round table discussion titled “Now is the time for Spain in Africa (opportunities for Spanish companies on the African continent),” to be held on the opening day of April 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Auditorium of Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (address: Paseo de Castellana, 162).
Casa Árabe will also have a space at the fair, within the Casa África - Impulso África stand in the Palacio de Cibeles Crystal Gallery from April 19 to 20, 2022, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
As part of this space, in the Sala África, on April 19 at 4:00 p.m., it has also organized a conference on “Business protocol and culture in North African countries,” given by Ana González Santamaría, a professor at the ESIC University. She will be introducing society, culture and protocol in the countries of North Africa when doing business as an entrepreneur in these markets. The purpose of the conference is to provide professionals and companies with knowledge about the diversity and rich cultures in these countries so as to avoid minor misunderstandings which might hinder communication, as well as explaining how to show sensitivity to certain cultural and social factors in the places where they travel. This can be decisive in undertaking smooth negotiations and building alliances.
On that same date, April 19, Casa Árabe will be giving the companies anddelegations attending the fair a guided tour of the exhibition Memories in Motion: Contemporary Art in Mauritania, which is open to the public at Casa Arabe’s headquarters in Madrid until May 15. This is the first exhibition devoted entirely to Mauritanian contemporary art outside its borders, containing works by eleven artists from that country, curated by Aïcha Janeiro, also organized with the collaboration of Casa África.
