As part of the First International Symposium on Flamenco and Arab music Tickets now on sale at the Teatro Góngora box offices.
On March 5, the Teatro Góngora in Cordoba is hosting the concert Flamenco Andalusí, to be given by the group Orquesta Chekara.
The performance, which forms part of the First International Symposium of Flamenco and Arab Music held from March 5-7 in the city of Cordoba, will make it possible to hear the songs from the group’s latest album, titled Tan lejos, tan cerca. It pays homage to late flamenco singer Enrique Morente.
Orquesta Chekara’s members are Jalal Chekara (violin and Al-Andalus style vocals); Vicente Gelo (flamenco vocals); Tino Vandersman (guitarist); Irene La Sentío (flamenco dancer); Mustafa Bakkali (Arabic oud and banjo) and Mouasin Bakkali (darbuka).
