Kamal Alharafi directed this film, which explores memories of the looting of the Palestinian Research Center’s archive by the Israeli army in 1982. On Saturday, November 22, come watch another screening in our Palestinian Film Festival, organized in Cordoba, and then stay for the debate on the film after the screening, with Gabriel Doménech.
A Fidai Film (Kamal Alharafi, 2024, 78’)
During the summer of 1982, the Israeli army invaded Beirut. Over that time, it raided the Palestinian Research Center and looted all of its archives. These archives contained historical documents from Palestine, including a collection of still and moving images. Using this as its premise, A Fidai Film explores the visual memory of this looting and makes use of images now held in the Israeli archives.
