Coming to Casa Árabe on Sunday, October 19 is a new screening in our Palestinian Film Festival, which we have organized in Cordoba throughout the months of October to December. On this occasion, the UCO’s School of Philosophy and Letters will be hosting the session, which includes a colloquium afterwards.
A Magical Substance Flows into Me (Jumana Manna, 2015, 66 minutes).
Artist Jumana Manna sets off on a quest to discover the musical diversity of historical Palestine. Based on her research about German-Jewish ethno-musicologist Robert Lachmann (1892-1939) and his work in Palestine, the film follows Manna’s exchanges
with musicians as she gets to know them in their homes and places of work and worship.
The screening is being held in collaboration with the Asociación Cine Cercano de Córdoba. A representative from that organization will be taking part in the colloquium to be held after the screening, along with Mamen Cuéllar.
